Michael D. Mulligan Receives Missouri Lawyers Media ICON Award
June 14, 2024Lewis Rice member Michael D. Mulligan was honored as a recipient of the 2024 ICON Award from Missouri Lawyers Media.
Launched in 2018, the ICON Award is given in recognition of exemplary careers and commitment to the Missouri legal community.
"Mike is the Co-Chair emeritus of the Firm's Estate Planning Department, and his dedication to his clients, colleagues, and community has made a lasting, positive impact on the legal profession," said Richard B. Walsh, Jr., firm chairman. "We are very proud to see Mike recognized for all of his outstanding accomplishments with this prestigious honor."
Mike is a principal originator of the estate planning strategy of sale to defective trust for an installment note, which is now widely used by estate planners nationally. He has been elected to the Estate Planning Hall of Fame® and has been awarded the Accredited Estate Planner® (Distinguished) designation by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils.
Mike was celebrated at the annual ICON Awards luncheon June 13, 2024, at Martiz in St. Louis and will also be profiled in print and online in a special section of Missouri Lawyers Weekly.
